“Coach Ryce was having an ale with his old rival, Da Todfatha, who suggested Ryce enter his Gypsies into the Bloodweiser Bowl. So, as almost an afterthought, DWG entered the Bloodweiser Bowl in the last days of sign ups. Their first match would be against an undead team, the Black Mausoleum Boys. BMB, though a newer team, had a full, deep roster with strong handicaps.

DWG was also, however, at the top of their game. DWG got the kick-off and started driving down the field. The rookie Drake Demon was struck down my one of the enemy mummies! Brimstone avenged the young lineman by knocking out the BMB superstrong dirty playing wight. Cougar responded by throwing a deep pass to Leadfist, who moved in for the first score!

The heavens opened up and the driving rain slowed the dead down even more. The DWG broke through the lines as the recently deceased struggled to pick up the ball. Brimstone grabbed the ball and took it in for a second TD!

The weather cleared up as the Gypsies kicked the ball back to the dead. They knocked out Grimble and fouled Moat out of the game, but could do little to even up the score before half-time.

The second half started with another turn-over for the Gypsies! Cougar, under pressure from the dead, threw a bomb to St. Stone who ran it in and made the score 3-0!

The dead, said enough was enough (well more growled it) and managed to get one of their ghouls into the endzone with the ball, making it 3-1.

In the final moments of the game, rookie thrower Nightsong grabbed a loose ball in the midst of the zombie hordes and threw a huge pass to the rookie catcher Jonez who took it in for the final play of the game 4-1 DWG!

Great game for the Gypsies. Drake will be missed (Not really). But it is only going to get tougher from here! Can DWG get all the way to the Bloodweiser Cup?
