The match hinged on a vital moment, right at the end of the first half - Scrag McDagg was pinned to the touchline, but he had a Flesh Golem to help him blitz his way free to the endzone. Up came the double skulls, no rerolls left, and to top it all, he was seriously injured. Until that point, the Dogma's famed defence had harried and outmanouevred the Amazon's into losing the ball a couple of times - the failure to capitalise proved costly.
At the restart, a Blitz was rolled, and it proved impossible to protect the ball. For the final drive, with four turns left, Grothy Moss, standing in for Scragg as the main ball retriever, failed to collect the ball two turns in succession; on the third occasion, he managed it, but had left his team in such a plight that he had to attempt a pass, which he promptly fumbled. Considering that he'll be the only Ghoul in the side for the following game, this head coach is understandably concerned...
I made little attempt to stop the last TD going in once it was clear the game was lost, instead going for blocks, of which none drew blood.
Lizard_King played ok, and was very sporting when Leanna switched sides late in the game, becoming the Dogma's first raised zombie. I have promised to keep her in the fridge, as the only even vaguely attractive (albeit dead) player in the team.
After the game, Pax Grimoire rolled double 5s, and was lumbered with Guard to give the team more edge in scrums for the ball, of which the Dogma tend to have quite a few, because they often steal the ball in defence, and often lose it in offence.”
