#1 Christopher Skase – Smashed Knee (NI) #10 Michael Allen Ofstedahl – Dead (RIP)
“Like so often in their lives the Corporate Fraudsters taste sweet victory only for it to be tinged with the bitter taste of defeat. After an early touchdown for the Chain Gang Christopher Skase went on another of his madcap runs into attack. Unfortunatly this time he came unstuck, falling at the feet of Mass Sumner and smashing his hand in the fall. Further bad luck saw the slithery, slimey scumbags fail to blunt the attacking flair of the exiles. 1-1. After a pitch invasion saw the fraudsters reduced to 7, some slick play got the ball back and move it touchdown side of the Exiles, looking to secure a victory. A brave and stupid Michael Allen Ofstedahl threw himself head long at Loki, not only did the prince of darkness smack him down, but he also smote his ruin. Vale Michael, Vale. Despite the 10 league points going to the Fraudsters, all in all a bad game, only 9 will take the field for the next round, and a key niggling injury will mean a long season for the Corporate Fraud Chain Gang. ”
“The age old question of what happened when the immovable object met the irresistible force was solved last night when the sturdy defence of The Exiled House met the speed and precision of The Corporate Fraud Chain Gang.
The stands were abuzz and the crowd, eager to involve themselves in the match, did so in a powerful fashion. Before the kickoff the Chain Gang fans invaded the pitch and attacked the Exiled House players. Thinking the match had begun, the Exiled House players decided in turn to attack the crowd. After the umpires managed to break up the melee a couple of hundred dead Chain Gang supporters lay strewn on the pitch, but more importantly half the Exiled House players lay stunned on the ground and one had been knocked out. Luckily there were none more seriously injured.
Receiving the kick off, the Chain Gang was able to capitalise on the gaping holes in the defence and quickly scored with a brilliant pass, bringing the score to 1- nil.
Now with the ball in hand The Exiled House would attempt to do, what Norse love doing most. Smashing their opponents into the ground and then think about scoring a TD.
Star Witch Elf Christopher Skase attempted a blitz on the Captain of The Exiled House, Blitzer Marr Sumner, shortly after the 2nd kick off of the game and payed a heavy price. The scorer of the first Chain Gang TD was seriously injured, and would sit out the rest of the game.
The next phase went as planned and the Norse were able to quickly reply with a TD of their own, though the damage to their opponents was not as great as they had wished.
The fans of The Exiled House went beserk. Seeing the opportunity they decided it was their turn to invade the pitch. The drunken Norse fans were able to make a mess of the Chain Gangs players, either stunning or knocking out almost the enitre team. One player was badly hurt, and unable to take further part in the match.
With only one turn left before half time The Exiled House kicked off. The Chain Gang went quickly on the offensive despite the fact they were down to 7 men and attacked the defending Norse. In a brilliant display of power not often seen in Dark Elves, Enio Montini blocked the Captain of The Exiled House, and scorer of their TD, Marr Sumner. The hit was a hard one and Sumner was knocked to the ground, seriously injuring his wrist. It was not a good day to score a TD it appeared.
The half was completed with the scores at 1 all.
With both teams deflated by the loss of their most dominant player, the start of the second half was a dour affair, with neither side able to gain the upper hand.
Late in the 4th turn the Chain Gang were able to make a break up the side past the weakened Exiled House defence. This resulted in a break away TD to Chain Gang lineman, Michael Allen Ofstedahl.
The casualty count continued to rise. Of note was a huge hit by Exiled House's Lineman Loki, resulting in the decapitation of Chain Gang player Michael Allen Ofstedahl. Indeed it was not a good day to score a TD.
To the superstitious Norse, a curse lay upon the scorer of any TD on this day, and there was no way on earth any of them would dare score another TD. Whenever they got into position to catch a pass that would result in a certain point, or make a blitz that would send them to the line, they would falter, tripping themselves up or dropping the ball.
When the game came to its inevitable conclusion the players all collapsed to the ground and the crowd cheered. A game like that had not been seen for at least a week. They all went home happy, except for the parents of Michael Allen Ofstedahl. They carried their son’s head home in a small brown leather bag.
The Corporate Fraud Chain Gang defeated The Exiled House 2-1. ”
