“As Coach Oblitzamanger was talking to Chaos Dwarf Blocker Gurg Sasor, who had recieved a pinched nerve in the previous game, about his future career, Samuel Klicket watched the game.
"Hey Oblitzamanger," he said. "Hey! Watch the game! They're scoring here!"
"Not now Sam. Can't you see I'm talking to a player?" replied Oblitzamanger.
"Well it's too late! They have already scored!" cried Klicket as Gutter Runner Snatcha Stomptail crossed the goal line with the ball, scoring the first touchdown ever on the Sledgehammers.
"Can't that wait? We have a game to win! And now we are losing. And it hasn't even been two minutes!"
Oblitzamanger turned and coached his team. In the backfield, Hobgoblin Hortet, with his extra agility, picked up the ball, and was protected all the way down the sideline until he scored back. 1 - 1
"Finally! I was getting worried," said Klicket. Oblitzamanger just gave him a stare and turned to coach the team again.
With plenty of time for them to score back, the Skaven side seemed like they would have the advantage going into the break. Despite a fan knocking out a Linerat with a rock, the Doomwheels made progress and shifted the field on the Sledgehammers. But the quick coaching by Oblitzamanger recovered the lost ground as the hole was shut, and the Gutter Runner was closed in. Just before the half ended, Verdan Jorcan killed Linerat Sacrif Aise. The apothecary was not used in fear more valuable players might be injured. Halftime: 1 - 1
The second half started with Hortet again picking up the ball. Protected by a cage, he again ran down the sideline free. With Storm Vermin Carsh Clawwetter going down to Bull Centaur Lipren Hoosadd, the Doomwheels gave up a turnover that gave Hortet the chance he needed to pass it to Hobgoblin Nipper quickly and for Nipper to score. 2 - 1
The Sledgehammers fans again knocked out a Skaven player, this time the Thrower, who was a center piece in the drive! Thus, the Doomwheels were forced to retreat into their half and hope for a quick scoring play later. But eh Chaos Dwarves didn't let the Skaven have any breathing room, as all their players in the offensive half were heavily marked. As Bull Centaur Hreal Mournshed was treated and saved from a damaged back, the Skaven moved into the unoccupied area of the pitch. Blocker Quintian Petronclu saved the game for the Sledghammers almost by himself. He stopped the advance by knocking Stomptail down, allowing the others to come to his aid, including the rookie Troll Bong de Kosh, rookie Hobgoblin Quench, both of whom would earn casualties in a few turns, and Hortet.
However, the ballcarrier, Linerat Vikkra Whiskerbane, knocked Hortet out, and rushed out of his crumbling protection. But, he was unprotected in the open, and Blocker Zurith Kealkun stunned him flat. The ball bounced to his feet, and the game was saved. Bong de Kosh and Quench would both get their badly hurt casualties.
Klicket screamed with joy that they had come back from behind to win the game. Both Nipper and Hortet learned how to Block, and Altroth Yeodarnk was bought to replace Gurg Sasor.”
