“The teams lined up for the game a little worse for wear after their baptism into the brutal world of BloodBowl. The Northern Lights' captain missed the game with a niggling injury and the Respiters headed into the game with only four regulars, luckily they were able to secure the temporary services of upcoming university player Nikolai Kaminov for the match.
The lanky frame of Respiter Johann Hoch was able to dispossess the ball near the LOS and with a little help was able to blitz through the Northern Light line to score the first TD.
Shortly after the kick-off Northern Lights blitzer Madd Dogg and Swally drove down the Respiter's flank and blitzed through for Swally to score his second TD in as many games.
Things were now looking grim for the Respiters, as with a player knocked out they had two players less on the field.
The second half began with a blistering run from Respiters captain Reichardt as he received a quick pass from fellow blitzer Mathian. The Northern Lights were quick on the chase though and were able to knock him to the ground. The the scattered into the crowd and was thrown back in by an over-enthusiastic fan, who sent it straight back into the Respiter's half.
Northern Lights lineman CGB was knocked out trying to block Johann, giving the Nuln team a chance to consolidate. Left alone near the ball, Mathian grabbed it and began the long run to the opposing touch line. He was quickly followed by Derik the lineman but he reached the touchline and stalled for a bit of time by running down it rather than score immediately. Derik almost managed to grab Mathian but slipped on the grass just as he made his lunge. Mathian prudently crossed the line to score the third TD of the match.
As the game kicked off for the last time the numerical advantage held by the Northern Lights made most fans think that they'd score the equalizer before the whistle, Respiter blitzer Reichardt had other ideas and promtly clobbered opposing scorer Swally, seriously injuring him and giving him a niggling injury.
As the game drew to a close the Northern Lights regulars gave it all they got, but a slippery ball confounded their hopes and the game ended 2-1 to Verena's Respite.
