#9 The Raven – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#9 The Raven – Smashed Knee (NI)
A game of topsy turvey luck.

The Norse started in offence in the rain and and caged the ball, bringing it up one wing, burning a crucial reroll on a double skulls early, and another trying to buy a pow on two dice to break through which didn't work.

The Dreams only had one reroll and soon had two players knocked out and a third badly hurt.

The Dreams caused a MNG on the Norse, but wanting to maintain the momentum, the Norse used their apothecary, and paid the price late in the second half when their Catcher was niggled.

The Dreams without a reroll made their 3+ leap and one dice bltiz pow to knock the ball free, and then made a 5+ pick up and 2+ dodge to set up a possible TD pass. Needing a 5 or less to avoid an intercept and then a 3+ pass (and 3+ catch with Catch reroll) to score, the Dreams fumbbled the pass.

Both teams tried to pressure the ball, and fortune was with the Norse when a Dreams player was pushed onto the ball and the bouncing pigskin was caught by one of their players.

The Dreams put 3 tackle zones on the Norse ball carrier but a two dice blitz powed one into the other (chain push) to free the ball carrier who ran forwards.

The Dreams made a 2+ dodge to try another one dice blitz but thie time it was skull/pow and the Norse were able to advance and score late to take a 1-0 lead into the second half.

Both Dreams players who were KO woke up and it was 10 vs 11 in the second half rain.

The Dreams had more bad luck with the ball and the Norse surged forwards in numbers, and the mass of players with Block applied pressure to the beleagued Woodies.

Once more the Dreams made a 5+ pickup without a reroll and a 2+ dodge. A Long Pass attempt was not intercepted but fumbled once more and the Norse used their numbers to clear a path to the ball, pick it up (with a reroll) and score a second TD.

With 3 turns left, the Dreams line up again and pushed two players deep. The Norse pushed forwards on both wings and the Dreams counterattacked, causing a niggle to Norse Catcher, The Raven.

The Dreams picked up the ball, and handed off to their catcher who fumbbled the short pass attempt!

The Norse cleared a path to the ball again and set up a third TD to finish off the game.
----------------
As I said, a bizarre game with lots of swinging luck. My opponent stated that he had bad luck the entire game, but then he did without a reroll make a one dice leap pow blitz (3+ 5+, chance = 8/36 or 22.22%) and a 5+ pick up to almost steal a TD on defence. In fact, 6 turns in, his luck meter said 86% (but he had not made a lot of rolls).

Second half, he also had a mix of good and bad luck, with more fumbbled passes, but another 5+ pick up and dodge without a reroll.

Overall, he definately had a lot more bad luck than good luck. No argument there, and I also had the benefit of winning a reroll on two? kickoffs and a Perfect Defence on a T8 setup (saved me getting players hit).

Anyways, I wish my opponent some better luck in the future.
