“Apocalyptic SWL Predators vs Fast Fossils
Or “How a blitz can backfire!”
Not once but twice the Orcs blitzed into Fossils territory and both times the ball went into touch.
Gold - Vugdish III - Without a doubt. He was the Man of the Match.
Silver - Parbag - 2 Cas speak for themselves.
Bronze - Drysd - St 4 players in masses are always tough.
Cheers for the game. Despite the time it was an entertaining match. ”
Kick-off was at 6am. What a weird time to play BB, but it proved to be an enjoyable game all round (perhaps due to all 5 Fossil casualties being BH, and Hyaena brunnea being ejected after his “stun” first foul?).
The Apocalyptic SWL Predators set the tone for the game with a fast 2 turn TD. Lizards replied likewise and the score was 1-1 after just 3 turns (felt like more with the Predators getting a “blitz” jump on the Fossils). Injury time was called for and granted to give the boys a rest.
A key early play was Canis Lupus Badly hurting new Super-Star Balljuggler. So much for the new leap-Ag5 combination try-out.
Other notable play was the first TD by a Fossil Saurus (first two actually). Twice the Predators blitzed on kick-off, twice the kick went into the stands and a touchback given to Vugdish III. Twice he rushed to score.
Coach ArtaXerxes was thankful all casualties were BH for the Fossils, allowing next season off to a strong start. The way they were incurred though was a little odd. One was a rock thrown by the celebrating orc crowd and the last by balldrinker II failing a GFI. At the late stage of the game, Coach ArtaXerxes even risked the apoth in the hope of keeping him on the field to score the winning TD, but the apoth was also rolling 1’s today. Actually that method for gathering casualties doesn’t sound so odd after all.
Thanks for the fun game Platypus.
3 votes - #13 Puma Concolor, elf-like passing machine
2 votes - #9 Canis Lupus (c), orc-like blitzing/tackling machine against poor little skinks.
1 vote - #2 Ursus Maritimus, blocking machine, although casualty came too late in game to change the result. ”
