“On an absolutely rain soaked pitch the humans and former humans squared off and the conditions proved to be very difficult indeed. A decent start by the revived ones sputtered when despite using all the manager's tools they failed to pickup the ball on the start of their drive. Both teams kept pummeling each other relentlessly, especially the necros leaving an impression when the nearly killed a Carnivalist - who was only saved by the ever quick doc.
The bashing went on but the skill part of the game became an absolute farce - the Red Flagon of Justice desperately tried to scoop up the ball and then the Carnival tried to as well, the slippery wet "thing" was just not grabbable (it took a total of 19 attempts - including the coaches encore rolls - to gather the ball a total of 2 times). The rain nearly proved the undoing of both teams. In the duying seconds it was finally pickedup by Pierro and run in for the opening score.
The carnival received the ball start of the second half and made a good effort by smashing hard into the zombie line. The proceeded to move the ball upfield. The game then had repeated interruptions due to bad light and especially due to problems on the magic mike that connects Redhammer to the sideline (he was coaching from a raincovered hospitality box at the time). Finally Houdinov ran in for the score when transmission was restored.
The last drive of the game started with a solid push up the field by the Necros but without their star Werehamster who had decided that he preferred staying on the bench. The ball was moved up the field but then a clever blocked caused the ball carrying Wight Slevernem to drop it into the crowd and there was a future (or past) hall of fame thrower in the crowd as the ball sailed over most of the pitch deep into the Flagon's half. There it was picked up for the closing score by Dirk van Kaaten, firmly sealing the Carnival vitory.
Overall an exciting game, it has to be said the the Red Flagon did not have the best of luck. ”
