“Yeah, I fixed Tony with Blood Bowl, and now he dealt it back to me with a heavy club. See his report for further detail. It was fun anyway. I guess I do have that sense of humor. ;o) At least I didn't make any obvious mistakes and don't have myself to blame. I was also missing my second Werewolf bad. Wait till I get some Guard, though.”
“Verminardo is the guy who pointed me -to- this site. I blame my addiction wholly on him. So it's ironic that, what with the different continents and different time-zones, we'd never gotten a chance to play together before now.
It was fun. Of course, I'm in a position to say that.
The early part of the first half saw repeated casualties and KOs on the orc side. Verminardo was all "Oh, Orcs are -wimps-!" and I was all "Grrr ... we'll just see about that."
The tide turned, casualty-wise, in the second half, with more armor breaks and more than a few statistically wonky double-skulls for Verminardo.
The simple fact is that an early Necro team can't take as much of a beating as an early Orc team. You start having Werewolves and Flesh Golems and the like dragged off the pitch and it really puts a massive crimp in your ability to exert force on the field. Combine that with the fact that I had a smattering of Guard (and he didn't) and I had something like three times as many Block-equipped players as he did, and things turned into the ugly grind characteristic of Orcish play.
So, I dunno. I wanted it to be a fun game for everyone. Sometimes Bloodbowl hands you a game result that can only be considered fun if you've got one heck of a sense of humor.”
