“A good game, and much closer than the scores show. It rained the first half, and both teams, especially the wood elves, had enormous difficulty in picking up the ball. Dodges also failed a lot, and passing the ball almost impossible. Basically, it was NOT two elfteams on that pitch.
The not-elf aspect was further enhanced by the high elves bashing skills. Woodies got hurt left and right, and knocked out at great speed. Mates treeman made a 3d block against my guard-lino without block, rolled 3+pow/block and promptly got badly hurt. The lineman was not even stunned.
The second half was a little better. After fighting for the ball some, the high elves managed to score once more, and Mates was forced to play with six players on the pitch. This didn't stop him though, and with an unusual (for this game) show of elfishness scored in two turns, even though it was very sunny.
The game was held up for injury time after that, which left me with three turns to score. When Mates rolled a one for his GFI, the high elves made a cage around the ball, an unskilled lino in the middle. About the only players Mates could use were his two wardancers, and no rerolls was available. Forrest Gump leapt into the cage for a 1d against the ballholder, and rolled... Skull. I knocked the other wardancer away, and with a GFI managed to score 3-1 in turn 16.
All in all, a very fun game, even though I feel slightly guilty for my enormously good armor/injuryrolls. Mates was a sporting and fun opponent, and I'll play him again any day. GG!”
