“This was an all too familiar game - it would have been mine had the Orcs not punched through Elven armour with such ridiculous regularity, covering up the shortcomings in Popcorn's play. His faith in Orc passing was astonishing, and rewarding. He never failed to take all his blocks either, before doing the vital stuff.
The game could have been done and dusted but for Málas Wolfeye falling on the loose ball, having already consumed a reroll on an earlier dodge. I hadn't stood up a number of players, gambling that I would move them after the hoped for collection and pass, but the dice elected to shaft me once again. After that, it was a one-sided beating, culminating in the Apothecary failing to save Eärylas Shadestalker, the senior Catcher, from a niggling injury. A frustrating match.
Popcorn played in good spirit, and this was his first experience of a 2hr+ grinder of a match (meaning he's never played me before!). While my above report is a bit of a whinge, I will say that my team is lacking in a number of crucial areas, notably Leap and Strip Ball, which could have made this game very interesting. Unfortunately, the Bluebloods have rolled too many stat increases, at the expense of these more mundane skills.
Edit: I'd forgotten about the BoB catchers! That was completely taking the mickey, though to be fair it's great if it works, and you have a reroll at hand.”
