SWL Season XVII - Southside Stone Smashers Conference League - Round 1

A near flawless game from the girls gave Patrician very few opportunities to make off with the ball. The first half saw a slow, but steady ork drive (just the way they've been practising in the off season), with an eventual touchdown in turn 8. The even managed to inflict a couple of casualties. All in all, it was virtually a textbook play (though things were looking down for a couple of turns when the ball carrier got herself blitzed by Nikoliev. Fortunately, there was enough support around, and Loony Tossa was able to retrieve the ball.

The second half saw a boneheaded ogre leave gaps in the norse line, allowing our players to move in on the cage. It took some time, and our fair share (possible more) of luck, but eventually, we were able to get enough players in on the ball to take control of it, and Heart Rippa was able to get the ball away for a touchdown.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------

3 pts - #10 Silverstam Strekoff
This fellow was the most irritating player on the pitch. Even though it turned out not to do much, the diving tackle meant that we had to be rather more careful than usual around him. Top notch effort on defence.

2 pts - #7 Nikoliev 'Shloss!' Sazzeyev
Nikoliev did his bit to get the ball free in the first half, but didn't have quite enough support to prevent the touchdown.

1 pt - #3 Molitov 'Bombski' Usslessy
Two casualties notched up on his belt came in handy - especially in the second half, where the norse started to get a numerical advantage through KOs. The damage was really a bit too well spread out to know which player to pick for the Twahnlows.

#6 Gregor Mublestloff – Broken Neck (-AG)
Well, this didn't turn out as planned. Laviak is a good Prem coach, and we had 4 tacklers, 3 when our DP Tackler niggled. There was little we could do, the Zons were everwhere and we couldn't move.

Votes

#3 - Head Stompa - Dodge SF monster.

#2 - Bone Krasha - Pain in the ass +ST

#1 - Da Flinga - well earned MVP, backed up Loony Tossa well.
