“The Mancs came into this game off a high after beating the BarBar Queens 3-1 in their previous game, as did the fans, as one fan immediately threw a rock at Chris Hope, the Rushden Thrower. Unfortunately for the Mancs however, the fan was fairly weak, and only stunned the poor player (weakling...). The first round of blocking left the Rushden team up on numbers, after knocking out both Amir Khan and David Lloyd. Their cage was formed well - forcing the Mancs to attempt a 1db on the ball carrier. As the cage moved upfield, the Mancs attempted to pressure it, but all this ended in was an obituary for June Croft. A good break followed shortly after this, although the Mancs failed to capitalise on this.
