“A bruising game which ended surprisingly bloodlessly. The Bluebloods ran in the first TD easily enough, though Gliolas Pathfinder burned a reroll to get a pushback on the decisive endzone blitz. This set a trend for the rest of the half, as mediocre dice, Get the Ref and a a Stand Firm Mummy allowed Christer's Kings to really boss the pitch, and render no less than 5 High Elves unconscious. The Elves were enraged by the dirty play of Nut III, and exacted revenge, knocking him out for the rest of the game. The Khemri were keen to surround the small band of Elves, to an extent that they left their ball carrier somewhat unprotected. Two heroic 1d blitzes were made, the Elves showing the restless dead some very clean heels, but both ended in failure even after a reroll.

At the half time break, the smelling salts came out, with four groggy Elves returning to the pitch. The had extra time to wake up, with play delayed for a turn. Things went much better for the Bluebloods, as an awkward kick by Galamir Gladwing, sitting right on the touchline, was clumsily kicked into the crowd by the fumbling Thro-Ra. The ball was returned to play, and landed invitingly in the centre of the Kings' half, in unguarded territory. The Bluebloods quickly rushed forward, and denied most of the skeletons on the pitch from retrieving the situation by man-marking them. A scrap for the ball ensued, and a clear TD was denied by failed dodge, with reroll, to deny the score. The ball scattered to a surprised Mummy, who handed it off to a Thro-Ra, who in turn passed it to a somewhat guarded skeleton. The Bluebloods nevertheless nailed him, Galamir Gladwing managed to pass it to Belemir Blacksteed, who broke free of a Mummy marker and rushed toward the endzone, with team-mates moving to cover him. The next turn he had two markers on him, but he only needed some assistance to blitz free and score - sadly, the assistance came in the form of a clumsy Eäranduil Everhand, obviously unused to being in such a position, who fell while dodging, again with a reroll. Belemir was dispatched to the ground, the ball broke free, but the awaiting Thro-Ra's pass went wild. Thus came the crucial moment - With Gliolas Pathfinder waiting in the endzone, Galamir Gladwing, the team kicker, swooped in on the loose ball and heaved a pin-point long pass, which was taken and with it, the game.

I have to say that at times it looked like the dice weren't going to allow me to score the winner, with snake-eyes denying me two straightforward opportunities after a Khemri handling error, the only one of the game, provided the chink in the otherwise formidable Khemri gameplan.

Needless to say, I'm happy to get one over my oldest foe here - it's been years since I beat Christer. We normally have very close games, ending in a stalemate, but not this time.”
