Pandor Wastelanders 2 – 0 Rotting Hand

What a blast! In front of 51.000 fans (most of them beastmen – rotting or not) the Wastelanders won their debut match in the SNF Series against the Rotting Hand – also a rookie team. The Hand received in the first half and developed a wide cage formation to hide the ball carrier (a touchback did help to grab the little pill). The Wastelanders played with a solide line of scrimmage consisting of their troll and the two warriors assisted by some beastmen and some other beastmen curving around the opponents to get a shot at the ball carrier. Finally the chance occurred to sack him but both players went to the ground. SMASH! The ball scattered around for some time and was finally picked up by another Hand player who tried to sprint towards the endzone. The Wastelanders assumed such a risky play and were able to stop him. One beastman took the ball and throw it – to nowhere but deep enough in the enemy half of the pitch. The Wastelanders already had swarmed and there was no big gap for the Hand players to go through and secure the ball. The Wastelanders plan worked fine and they were able to knock the last defender for a loop and scored within the dying seconds of the first half – TOUCHDOWN! Sycophant Bozo was the player to score the first touchdown for the Wastelanders!

Half two was kind of one-sided game as the Wastelanders haven’t wasted time in removing opponent players from the field. All in all a beastmen got killed, the only rotter seriously injured (but regenerated) and another bh in favour for the Wastelanders. Several knock-outs also helped the chaos team to get a numerical advantage from early on. After the kick-off the Wastelanders secured the deep kick and gangfouled the opponent beast – the wimpy thing collapsed and was brought to the knock-out bench where it did stay til the final whistle. Rotting Hand coach Rimmer decided to take revenge for the foul and tried the same himself. The ref stood right beside the beastman who put the hoof into the Wastelanders player and sent him off. RED CARD! The Wastelanders fouled once more but with no serious damage and Sycophant Bozo walked in for the second touchdown of the game in the middle of the second half – TOUCHDOWN! Some of the Hand players recovered from their knock-outs and came back to try to score at least one touchdown. But the morale of the team was broken and the Wastelanders to strong. They put a lot of pressure on the Rotting Hand right after the kick-off aiming for another score against the poor opponents. They almost did it in the very last turn of the game but a pass didn’t found its target and the game was over.

Post match events:
Sycophant Bozo performed well this time. His morale boost and some intensive training sessions empowered his blocking ability. Unfortunately he had a training accident and therefore has now to fight with a niggling injury.

The Wastelanders engaged Dr. Franken Steen as their first apothecary. May he be worth his money!”
