Well, the Blight are very disappointed that this Draw happened, with the Norsemen leading right up to the 8th turn 2nd half. It was always going to be difficult, especially when our DP got sent off first turn, but we had some luck dodging around the Ogres and managed to stall for a 1-0 first half scoreline.

Chunky had a bad TTM experience, and thus began the 2nd half. More and more Norse were sent to the dougout and somehow an Ogre got the ball. We managed to sack him, but to no avail, we couldn't trap the ball and Chunky got the draw, 1-1.

A tough game, and the Norse are thankful none of their major players were permanently injured. Still, we'll be down two players for our match against the REALLY High Elves and the Win was badly needed. Full credit to Chunky though, he uses those Ogres well and was a decent sport when facing some tough die at times.

Votes

#3 - Mack, a real pain, one of the Ogres we knew our catchers had to avoid.

#2 - Sina Tapili - stupid DP, caused us a headache and really evened up the KO box

#1 - Valea - a rock steady blocking game.

This was quite the strange game. Again we went mandown fairly early on, when an Ogre got KOed and never came back. However with no players missing on this occasion, it didn't hamper us too badly. We were very lucky with our boneheads this game, with failures being few and far between, and only two that I can recall on the crucial Blitz action. However, we were not able to take advantage of the Norseman's AV7 with our blocking.

Despite the good luck on the boneheads, the first half was a fairly lackluster display. We managed to get a number of blitzes on the ballcarrier, but unfortunately vouldn't get one with Mack, who the blight managed to keep marked very well throughout the game to limit his impact. The other ogres had a couple of cracks at Oldbugmanof Perfectoss, but were unable to knock him over, and he was able to stall it out to reduce our chance of a return score. The blight forgot to mark the backfield though, and this gave us a perfect oppoprtunity to even the match with a TTM score, but unfortunately Mila was dropped on her head, depriving us of our main ballcarrier in the process. This meant we were pretty much going to have to be very lucky to get anything beyond a draw.

In the second half, we were able to rumble up the pitch quite well, but some excellent blocking under pressure from the blight meant we weren't able to score quickly, and in the end we had to settle for running it in in our final turn to even the match.

3 points - Nufflekoff Cursenen - a constant pain in the rectal passage, Nufflekoff both hunted down gobbos with tremendous success (I'm not sure he knew how to not roll a POW!), and also was very often in the right place to lend an assist for his stronger and Dauntless brethren to make key blocks on ogres.

2 points - Oldbugmanof Perfectoss - his high MA, AG, and ability to stay on his feet against ogre blitzes enabled him to score the Blights TD. If he'd taken part in the second half, the blight may have been better able to take advantage of some of the opportunities they created and clear the ball, but that would definitely have exposed him to being hunted down and booted.

1 point - Busar Littlenoff Pegoski - gets the remaining point in a close call over Gougeofsten Socketson. Took out Jeff da Maori early on, which contributed to the lack of blocking output from the Ogres.
