me: "Ho ho, he hasn't money to buy a star, I buy the prince I have 5 str 4, he only 1 str 5, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I am so great"
A few days ago:
"pfew, bored at job, that XLF game is important, let's print both rosters."
scritch scritch brrr brrr (printing sound)
"Hell O_o I am the underdog! He has a deep roster talented at every position. Even if I hit well he will always have some bench coming in to supply that squad. That sucks"
As you can imagine, my overconfidence vanished.
Yesterday:
The game doesn't start too bad with "It wasn't me" on a guarder. As I fairly didn't imagine I could stop he's scoring I opted for delay, delay. I got fouled, fouled back (actually, I would have fouled first but a pitch invasion stunned my DP).
It was rather difficult and I even feared I wouldn't succeed to score in the end but managed it turn 8. I putted 3 Sidesteppers on LOS (no 1 turn) but I got denyed my 1-0 lead due to an injury time.
Gary started the second half with the incredible capabilities of his guy. Even at 9, I saw I had no chance in blocking him. leap, NOS dodge (dump off), whatever the targetted catcher I couldn't stop him.
But he was at 9. I had to send this one in overtime. If I scored back, we would do to me the same. So I did hit, hit and hit.
Overtime: 3 KO back out of 6. He had 7 players to start with, and got the ball. So far, my target was the guarder that brought down my LOS opening unwanted holes. But gary easily scored. I counted the catchers and came to the following conclusion: I couldn't send them all out. He managed to score even so much down in numbers.
So I made a quick evaluation of the situation: his strong arm, accurate safe throw thrower was the key.
I BHed him, apo fails and took the other thrower out. No delay was imaginable so I scored quickly this time. I got then a perfect defense, Gary was reroll-less, I stole him the ball and finally sealed a win that I have to thanks to casualties.
It was a very diificult game. Honestly, I think I played well and that was really requiered since I consider Gary as a better coach then myself. Nuffle gave me the extra help I needed.
“A great match but.... well... 7 cas against :/ it's hard! At least they were all BH....
Apart an injury time that let me scored in the end of the 1st half all thing went bad for my little elves, with more players probably I could have forced it to a coin toss but Nuffle wasnt on my side.
Good luck to my opp in the Cup!”
