Game 43 – SWL Season 17 Round 3

A big game that should have been very one sided, but the Deadmen Wrestling did their mightiest to even the sides through some Andre the Giant getting “Buzzing”, Erool III suffering “Duh, where am I”, Junkyard Dog sneaking on some knuckledusters, and feeding the ego's of Balljuggler and Balldrinker II till the wouldn't take the field together as the brightest star (I'm the greatest). Four handicaps... anything could have happened. Of course virus could have occured, but niggled Ballnasher was already missing the game. Kind of like 5 handicaps really.

The Deadmen Wrestling fans had also come prepared – with rocks. While most folks were watching the ball in flight from the first kick, a second hard object was projected across the field, landing squarely on the muzzle of big Kroxigor Drysd, and he was stunned before play had even commenced. With Drysd down, the defense was weak and Parbag was toppled over by Andre the Giant, allowing Heavy Forge to sneak in with the boot. A RIP first foul on emerging star Parbag, and things were starting to hint that an upset may be possible. Thankfully the Apoth was paying attention this game and could retrieve Parbag before he walked up the eternal tunnel towards the light. The Deadmen missed a throw while in their own half, allowing Balljuggle to retrieve and throw for Ballspinner to score his first.

Second kick-off and again while the ball was in the air a second rock was launched by the Deadmen crowd. This one KO'd Vugdish III giving the Deadmen still a hint of a chance. Some persistence by Stan The Man Satziak finally allowed him to dodge and blitz and dodge and blitz to score. 1-1 and halftime looming.

Third kickoff was by the Deadmen, and thankfully all the rocks had been used. A 2 turn dash by Ballspinner saw him score his second for the day, and a halftime score of 2-1.

The second half started with the Fossils receiving and quickly forming a cage around the ball carrier in the middle of Deadman territory. Freddie Blassie the showed his elfish like dodging into 2 tacklezones to blitz little Balldrinker II. Stan the Man Satziak then excelled in picking up the ball from the edge of the cage and dodging into his own cage. However Ballspinner was not finished yet, dodged into the cage, blitzed the ball free and the deftly picked it up. A turn later and he was over for his and the Fossil's third.

The last drive for the Deadmen all started to go wrong from when Andre the Giant rolled both down. Delicious Dave Vicious saved the day (briefly anyway) with skillful ball pickup, dodge and throw to Freddie Blassie. The defense however couldn't cover Freddie, and a blitz soon saw the Skinks able to gain possession and run in another touchdown for a final scoreline of 4-1.

Well done Coach RedMaul in handeling your under-maned team well.

Not a particularly fun game.

A weeny TR difference of 85 gave us 4 handicaps : Duh, The Greatest, Buzzing, and Knuckle dusters. The Greatest probably had the most effect, keeping just one monster skink on the pitch at a time thank you very much.

Anyways, never stood a chance, blah blah blah.

The highlight of the game was a the first turn Foul by Heavy Forger on parbag for the RIP, UNFORTUNATELY healed by the Apoth :P

Twahns:

3 points #13 Ballspinner. Strength 3 and stunty is a bastard combination.
2 points #1 Erool III with breaktackle constantly applied the pressure.
1 polint #4 Gidush II ST5 and block, wish my mummies were half as good.
