“(Note- The above roster currently shows only 7 players. The NM All Darks will field an 11 man lineup for kickoff in their 2nd match.)
The NMAD's chose to receive in blizzard conditions, and a very disciplined ogre team fought them to a 0-0 tie in the first half, despite several close efforts and bobbled chances. However, 2 players were Knocked Out and one more RIP'd, all accidentally in a no-foul game, leaving the 'Darks with only 9 vs 11 to kick off in the 2nd half (and that almost immediately dropped to 8!)
However, luck did not bounce for the Ogres, as a double skull block ended their first turn early before they could take possession, and led to a melee for the ball on their goal, and eventual stumbling defensive TD by turn 4! Receiving a 2nd time in that half, the Ogres then suffered an unbelievable run of bad luck for goblin ball handlers, 3 failed efforts in a row to Pick Up in their backfield, by which time the Dark Elfs were able to stop screwing around and getting over-excited and miscount movement, push thru, take possession, and kill the clock.
The 'Darks constantly found themselves off balance and several men down, and unable to develop any real rhythm. I don't feel I deserved to win that one, and the Hard Skins well may have. And with a man lost RIP and few SP's gained in exchange, I'm not exactly sure I did win - doesn't quite feel like it!

Well fought, Hard Skins!”
