“Hehehe...I got away with this game by the skin of my teath, and even Pras will back me up here when in Turn 7 of the second half, the Undead fail to push the Ghoul up a few squares more, just in case the opportunity arose in Turn 8, and therefore surrender any chance of a win for them.
I was a mighty releived coach when that happened. I say that because the Undead were very dangerous on the night, and had sufficient blend of talents and cheep regen linos to make things difficult for me.
Gratz to Artist for using his team well, and making me realise that my boys in Green will have to do more training to win this league. Rerolls neede badly!!
My match report is a bit sketchier tonight up until turn 5, as this game was played imediately on the back of my Week 2 fixture, and at midnight. As a result I did not relise that I had not kept a log of events as normal for the AFL, until Turn 5 when Artist scored. Sorry!
Turn 1
The Undead received but failed the pick-up and a turnover ensured.
Turn 2
An orc lineman was BH by a Mummy.
Turn 4
The troll caused an early turn over by blocking unsucessfully
Turn 5
The ghoul scores as a result of the previous turnover
1-0 Zombietown Utd
Turn 5
Orcs received and had a good set of blocking results, making 1 skeleton miss the next game. The ball was passed to a Blitzer on the Orc right, just by the LOS.
Turn 6
The Undead lined up around the ball carriers' guards, but they could not break through, neither could the Orcs penetrate any deeper into the Undead half, despite somemore positive blocking.
Turn 7 & 8
The Orcs did 2 casualties this turn. Nasty Norris made a run with the ball, but a Wight made a good 1 dice block to down him and save the TD. This effectively killed the half as neither side could score in the last turn then.
Second Half
Turn 1
The Orcs received and made a massive push down their left flank. Unfortunately the ball was not picked up , and a Wight managed to get a TZ on the Orc thrower.
Turn 2
A BOB blitzes away the harrasing Wight, but the thrower again fumbles the ball. The Undead close in a bit on the Orc LOS line.
Turn 3
The Orc thrower gets the ball and pulls off a good pass to let Smell Saussage run over to score.
1-1
Turn 3
Undead receiving again, and again they fumbled the pick-up.
Turn 4
The Orcs repositioned to their left and centre, leaving the right almost unprotected. Instaed of exploiting that overbalancing, the Undead chose to cage up on the left. As in my first game, the decisive point came in Turn 3 when Pras had made a dodgy block, this game saw it's first decisive moment here, as the Undead comitted their play to the most packed part of the defense.
Turn 5
The Orcs injure another Zombie and surround the cage on the three exposed sides....the back of the cage was towards the sidelnes.
Turn 6
The Orcs failed to deal with the Mummy ahead of the cage, and as a result the Orc Blitzer was pushed off the field. The other Mummy also made a BOB miss the next game. The cage though was still on the LOS.
Turn 7 & 8
The Troll again causes a turnover by going down on a block. The Undead fail to move up the required squares and therefore the game peters out into a draw, with an Orc Blitzer bing forced to miss the next game due to an injury in the dying moments.
