“By second turn, he'd already badly hurt my str6 troll, Nobbla (who failed to break armor the only time he tried to use his saw), and my DP gobbo. I'd already given up by this point, seeing zero shot at anything good happening this game.
Second half, he's up 1-0, I'm down a blackorc, he still has Ripper, serious mis-match, ya know? But it's amazing what a few skulls will do to a gameplan, giving me a shot. Took surviving several counter-blitzes, but eventually my rookie blitzer got the tying score, giving Aequitas two turns to counter.
I thought I had him pretty bottled up, covering his only blitzer in scoring range and stunning his gobbo TTM possibility. But I'd forgotten his blitzer was str4, and apparently agi6 also, as he had no problems catching the ball in traffic and blitzing his way free for the winning score. My long-shot attempt at a OTS chainpush ended with POW instead of pushes on the second block.
GG, gl with the rest of the tourney, make somebody else look pathetic, will ya?”
“Most of what he said is true, though he failed to mention his troll regenerated and had a much better second half performance (well as much as trolls can do, he tied up tackle zones :).
It wasn't as grim or one sided as he's claiming it to be. I had some good luck the first half, but he made some good plays and tied it up in the second.
The last play of the game for me ended with success and desperately good rolls. But was only necessary due to a critical block failure on a line orc. Otherwise I could've just blitzed the guy by my MV7, ST4 Blitzer who'd be in the open for a short pass (from an AG4 Blitzer).
So in closing, it was a close game that could've gone either way. Near the end we were both low on re-rolls and we each had 11 players (all dp's were gone), so it's difficult to say what would have happened.
Nonethless, it was entertaining. :)
Thanks for the game, and as I'm typing this.. I lost my second match 0-2. So I'm also out.
