Morg played for the Last Stand, and High Above had both Moranion and a wizard ready.
The orcs chose to recieve first. They set up for a foul on a dragon warrior and discovered that their cage was a bit off. A hand off to a lino failed with reroll a the ball bounced next to Morg. No foul that time! The elves failed to pick up the ball, and the orcs swamped it and got it back. I considered letting loose the power of the wizard already, but thought that even if I scored there would be enough time for the orcs to score 1-1 before halftime.
Then I started to get bashed to bits. Morg hit hard, blitzing his way forward on 3d, making 2 cas and a KO. A foul removed one of my linemen. The elves retreated, just hoping for a chance. The orcs held on to the ball until the very last turn when we made a desperate attempt to put the ball under pressure, but didnt even get that far.
Halftime 0-1 and 0-3 cas.
I had 8 elves to try and score. I ran here, I ran there, I fell down a bit. The orcs took care of the ball, removing my catcher from the game as well. I could have used my wizard to score, but once again I felt that the orcs would have time to score before the end. I waited for a chance to get at it, but figured that at some point I would have to use the wizard just to get us into overtime.
After one less good turn for Emph I could in a tricky way blitz the ball, and made it. In the following orc turn Emph was careless and did a 1d block with no reroll, skull. I made a very elvish dash, 3+3+4+2+ and got away with the ball and 1-1 just before full time.
Full time: 1-1 and 1-5 cas.
Orcs got the toss. Arr. The ball went wide and was given to Morg. The orcs bashed out 3 elves on their first turn. For any chance of success I fired off the fireball, and it was great! Not only did it knock down all the right players, the bounce went wide to my players. I ran away with it, and could even stall a turn before the slow orcs catched up. In the meantime they made 2 cas more.
The orcs rushed for a quick score. They also fouled the hell out of us. The blitzer fell down on a scorin gfi. Haha! The score came in turn 6. When we started the last drive I had 3 elves. Charles took the ball and threw far back, and the orcs couldnt move it forward to settle the result in game.
coin flip: orcs win.
Great fun!
7 fouls and 6 cas? And not sent off? Come on!”
