These Dark Elf teams are really struggling in their first season in the UFL. Both Dark Elf teams have been hammered by 5 at the hands of the Lizardmen, and both teams have lost a game to their High Elf Cousins at some stage since the UFL was formed.
Tonight the Gloomwood Demons had a torid time with 4 of the 5 TD's coming from their own players losing or failing to collect the ball. A smaller sized squad of High Elves were able to make the critical plays time and again, and avoided getting into a protracted struggle where numbers would have counted in the Demons favour.
The High Elves received and scored fairly typically in 2 turns, but the worst was yet to come. The sheer pace and trickery of the 2 High Elf catchers meant that they were able to repeatedly sack the Dark Elf ball carriers and get the ball away in double quick time. This was compounded by a couple of occasions where the pick-up was fumbled by the Dark Elves and again a quick blitz saw the High Elves in possession again.
I have to give credit to my opponant "Artist" as he did not play badly as I have seen many coaches do, if anything he underestimated the difference in style between the two Elven teams, and left a few half-chances that were just do-able by the MA8 catchers, where as the Dark Elves do not have anything quite the same. The gap between MA7 and MA8 seems larger than one would logicaly think)”
