“What a hard fought battle. Redhammer entered the game full of respect for coach Synn's ability and was not wrong. The Dead Bunnies United coach played aggressively and very effectively.
The game was marked by very aggressive straightforward attacks and the Bunnies also displayed their aggression making 66 block and committing 4 fouls. The Carnival had to play an more evasive style only making 39 blocks and no fouls, the troupe did take the lead however on a pass from Knut Knoerrson, one of the few passes every made by a non thrower from this team. He found Houdinov open in the endzone. The Dead Bunnies countered and leveled only to have a express TD scored against them by Houdinov again. A very well worked TD, that left no chance for defence levelled the score again. During this drive Dirk van Kaaten, MVP of the last three games and the people's favourite, was fouled and killed. Even the apothecary failed to help him - the team is on the lookout for a new apothecary again.
So the troupe was on the attack again - a nice attack up the Norther edge of the pitch was countered by a very good blitz right before the goal line . The blitz was not to last though as Frederic and Der Burkhardt held their position and cleared the ghouls to allow Houdinov his 3 TD of the day.
Time was running out now and it looked like the troupe could carry it home from here - Redhammer even announced that only the referee deciding on Injury Time - there were none bar the foul on van Kaaten - could save the Undead. He promptly cursed himself when injury time was announced!
The Undead got themselves into a scoring position but were surrounded by the troupe. They somehow pulled of a marvelllous: dodge, dodge, dauntless roll, blitz, dodge, pass & catch and drew level.
One last turn to save the day for the troupe and it looked really swell when they started a pushing chain, even Ludger realised that he was supposed to act when his colleagues yelled at him, sadly they should have screamed "PUSH" and not "BLOCK" as he knocked down the Zombie he needed to push and the attempt ended.
Overall an entertaining game, marred by the failed apo and the inability to give a single SPP to a lineman.”
