“4 blitzers and my ogre affected by heat. Nobody else. That was the game that was given to my opponent right there.

Better do a full report, the three lines above makes me appear bitter ^^.
I had the following considerations for the game :
1) I can not stop him scoring. I will try, but i can not count on it as a viable strategy. that freak throwing long bombs on a 2 will score him at least one td.
2) I need to take some of his players out. Ag 6 blitzer, strip ball witch, st 4 blitzer were main targets. Freak thrower wasn't an issue as i didn't plan on him having the ball more than one time. (see item 1).
3) Count is ballcarrier. st5 blodge against no strip ball is a winner. Only need a bit of care to prevent him from being blocked, which opens up for bashing.
Was planning on winning 2-1 in regular time, had things gone my way.
Alas, they didn't. I had a weird feeling in the stomach as Sweltering heat was rolled for weather, knowing that it could make or break the game for either side. Even so, with my 4 blitzers out i had to try at least. A very elven play (including his wiz) from my opponent opened up for his fabulous score for 2-0 but i made a serious mistake of using my own wiz in a half-hearted attempt to stop him. That was my first mistake in the game. It left me without means to stop him and outnumbered on the field.
My second mistake of the game was leaving my catcher open for a blitz in the dying seconds of the 2. half. Blitz, bam, BH on him. Stupid.
I did a fairly nice oneturner with the other catcher and frenzy, one which i didn't think would happen that opened the whole game up. So now just score in 8th while mauling away for a whole half. Yeah well. I could not hurt a single elf and his sidestep didn't give me the opportunity to single one out for a decent foul. (needed at least 3 assists to overcome risk of being spotted - the ref was on me). Thats why i didn't foul in the second half.
Anyway, My opponent played his players to their fullest, metodically placing them next to tacklers, MBers and whatever. But no cas came my way, unfortunately. I koncked them down, but they came back up all half. I masplaced a plyer, thinking he had guard to allow for the 2dice on my ballcarrier. That was my third mistake of the game, opponent took advantage and i was in a tight spot.
So, looking back at my three considerations for the game :
1) Very true. Not a chance in hell to stop the frst score.
2) Bah. I tried and failed. Maybe a more "yehaaa, Lock and load, kick anything that goes down"- foulstrategy as opposed to my number-crunching one would have changed the game. Hmm.
3) Count did his job. Even used his hypnogaze a couple of times.

Ash, i am quite sure it wasn't the ag6 guy that you left hanging there. Had it been him i wouldn't have used the wiz. That i shouldn't have anyway doesn't make it better, but i am quite sure it wasn't him. :)”

In the second half, his tactic was maybe to obvious without fielding his thrower. So I took 2 bets. First, keeping as close as I could my players with sidestep to be everywhere out AND inside his cage. Second, keeping busy is dirty player by having some folks around.
Then, in my own oppinion Mithrilpoint did 2 errors. The first one is a tactical one, he fell in the bait about the dirties and did not foul once in second half!!! The second one was giving me ONE (not two lol) opportunity to blitz the Count with 2 dices... and then some side step around the ball got me the victory.
I don t know if he would have won by using his DP.... maybe. And maybe he wouldn t have won either by not doing the Count error. I was in a lucky game, I don t remember having failed any gfi/dodge beside a dodge in first turn and I did fine on casualties by kicking out two of his best player, the catcher MA9 AG4 catcher (who will have made the second half TD a lot easyer for him) soon in the game and the STR 4 frenzy blitzer later.
In fact the whole Warpstone Open Qualifier was lucky to me without ANY permanent injury and only one miss next game in first game.

Have to add something about Mithrilpoint's wizard! It was quite an intense moment, even Synn asked me "what in hell I was doing". Actually, he would have do almost the same but with the Ag6 blitzer and not a simple Ag4. As I explain him BEFORE mithril actualy used the wizard it was a bait to make him use it. With the Ag6 blitzer, even a lighting can fail, I though mithril would not use it against the Ag6, expecialy because even if I went down I was in a good position to score, even if the AV roll worked, I would have been in a nice position. So I tryed to bait him with an Ag4 blitzer as I said to Synn and it worked :)
