“Fresh from their celebratory feast which lasted 7 days, the Brewers head coach organised their next game against the Undead of Requiem in what promised to be a tricky encounter for the stout Halflings.
Kicking off the Brewers were frustrated through the entire first half, not least because for the second game in succession Barktooth missed the opening period. Slumbering in the woods he arrived at the stadium to find his team losing 1-0.
Seeing their beloved Treeman come out for the second half sent the travelling Brewer's fans into a frenzy, prompting them to riot the pitch. KO'ing a Mummy and a Wight proved too much for the Requiem and Meriadoc promtly did what he does best, a flying touchdown in the first turn.
1-1 and it was all to play for.
The Requiem received and thanks to some amazing fumbling, no doubt the noise of the Brewer's fans got to the players nerves, the ball stayed loose deep in the Requiem period for three turns. Seizing the initiative Burzhosh began tossing Halflings like his life depended upon it. Despite some bad landings, Bon Hornblower managed to stay on his feet, sweep up the ball and run it home.
2-1 and suddenly victory was a possibiliy.
Rock throwing stunned a Requiem skeleton and the fans screamed for their team to hold on in the last quarter. Unfortunately the impossible happened. Surrounded on all quarters the remaining Mummy smashed Barktooth's hip leaving his BB career in jeapody as he faces a struggle to regain fitness. Next, Burzhosh fell victim to the big hitting Undead leaving a hand full of startled Brewers on the field with no big guys for protection. The fans cheered them on but they just couldn't stop the 7th turn score and with no big men remaining Meriadoc was left standing with the ball and no way to score.
The fans went home happy, entertained and fed. High note of the match was the appearance of the Buckland Babes, team cheerleaders. Perhaps she was the driving force behind the fans excitement!!!!”
