“First game for the Woodies Double Double against the infamous KFC with boys lucky to escape with a 1-1 draw. Even more fortunate was finishing the match with no permenant injuries!
The WDDs started on defence, if it can be called that. Maybe it was a stratagy to conserve energy or to keep away from that maniac Slayer Stephen, either was the Double Double defence folded like a pack of cards. Tony Twinkletoes strolled down field with his entourage completly unchallenged. Devon tried vallianty to level the scores just before half time a nice last ditch tackle from Dwarfs kept them in the lead at the break 1-0.

The 2nd half saw a trademark lightning quick offence. Van B fed N.G.W who speed over the line before the FC could close in on him.

On defence again but this time the Woodies showed a little more resistance but still seemed reluctant to put a hit on the Ball Carrier. After some promising turns the Dwarfs started to get the upper hand and the 9 fouls commited were starting to take their toll. It came down to a last ditch effort from Crowlockasaurus who leapt and twirled hiw way past numerous players before knocking Tony to the ground and scooping up the ball. With no time for the elves to score, the remaing couple of players tied up the 2 dwarvern blitzers. Last turn of the game and the scene was set. Crowlockasaurus could not hold off his dwarvern attackers but neither Kevin Barlow or Brett Rainbow could shake off their marker and the siren sparing the Men of Wood from their first loss of the season.

2pts: Slayer Stephen - Did a lot of hard work for the Dwarfs and his Multi-Block proved a constant threat

1pt: Fred Faulconer - Managing to sneak 5 fouls past the ref deserves some applause. More so does the fact that he did not manage to do and long term damage.
