“The Blight faced up against last year's Premiers, who had suffered quite a few casualties in their past few games and were understrength. We got palmed coin for our handicap, and one player for the Duskriders niggled which gave the Blight a small player advantage.
Things didn't start well, with a perfect defence, bad positioning on the Blight's part and failed RR GFIs allowing the Duskriders to capitalise and score first. The Blight managed to recover though, although a rip on Nikoliev was worryingly Apothed. Sprinting to the touchline with Elves nipping at our heels, the Blight managed to sneak over the line on turn 8. 1-1 half time.
2nd half and it appears nuffle deserted the Duskriders. They rolled 1 after 1 and even though they passed and protected the ball well in their half, the Blight managed to cover off enough players to stall things a little. The 1s kept coming and even though the Duskriders positioned well and got the ball around the Blight, GFIs and dodges failed meant they couldn't move forward. We snabbled the ball and managed to sneak past 5 angry elves for the winning score.
A blitz on the next play prevented Longshanks from equalising and Skulls on a vital block sealed things. Overall, I'm certain the Blight were outplayed, but there was little Longshanks could do in the face of a severe luck downturn.

The Duskriders are starting to show their age and ran out of puff in this one. The first half things went on merrily enough; we caused a turnover to score first and made the Blight work hard for an equaliser on the stroke of half time.
The second half though our ball handling skills deserted us. We were getting a few KO's and had numerical superority and should easily have been able to run the clock down. A couple of errors though put the team under pressure and forced the issue. We were in a comfortable position to score our second TD but muffed easy chances to pickup the ball and make the completion that would have counted. Then from an almost impossible position, outnumbered and surrounded, the Blight showed the elves how it should be done and taunted their the hapless Duskriders with their elusiveness to snatch a win at the end.

3 Points - OldBugman Perfectoss. Who else? Scored both the TD's and did all the carrying. The deciding touchdown performed under real pressure that a WD would be glad to pull off. He broke our hearts.
2 Points - 'Titan' Frostham. Hey the those blitzers all look alike to me and they're all a real pain in the proverbial. Titan gets the nod ahead of the others because he was consistent in knocking us over.
1 Point - Gregor Mublestloff. Didn't do much but made a repeated nuisance of himself with his guarding ability.
Well played Pat. I will get my revenge in unwholesome ways when we meet again. Mwahahaha”
