“A messy romp for the indie rock stars in a <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=376">Canucks and Gringos</a> match.
The entire match was played in a downpour, giving the elves an advantage. The odds swung in their favour further as their fans got the ref on the opening kickoff (and amazingly came after him again on the second kickoff, even though he was still unconscious). The elves were able to stroll in for the opening score as the 'zons spent multiple player actions on pushing a blitzer out of bounds well away from the play, instead of trying to knock the ball the loose.
A beautiful deep kick, clumsy thrower ball-handling, and the 'zons decision to keep only the one thrower in their backfield gave the elves a second score on the stroke of halftime.
The second half was messy, but the elves managed to finally knock the ball loose from a tight scrum in their own half. A lucky bounce and catch allowed them to get free for a third score. While the dark elves ran for the score, the 'zons elected to start a series of revenge fouls instead of making an effort to put pressure on the ball.”
