SWL Season XVIII - Premier League - Round 5

Knee Snappa didn't quite get to the match, for some reason the ref wouldn't believe her when she said it wasn't her that tried to booby trap the pitch. Anyway, with her off the pitch, we had only one spare player to field. Fortunately, we won the toss, and elected to receive - a very good decision if I say so myself.

The first half saw a regular orcish drive, you know, the sort that lasts 8 turns, and starts with fouls to take out opposing key players. Elbow Kikka was sent off of course .. in turn 3 i think it was, right after knocking out the second of the Theatre's wights (the wights were the only tacklers on the field). After that, we trundled up the field, pausing here and there to surf zombies and wolves, and coming very close to forgetting to make the touchdown. Fortunately, Loony Tossa came to her senses just in time to score before the buzzer.

The second half saw us outnumbered, 9 to 10. Fortunately, both dirty players were off the pitch, so Aberration Theatre weren't really able to deal out too much damage. They also had an awful lot of trouble knocking our players over, far more than they really should, which added to their frustration. In fact, the only casualty of the half occured when Head Stompa dived to the ground in front of Scabby!

It took a lot of work, but eventually we managed to collapse the rather solid looking cage, and recover the ball. That Groth fellow is one tough customer. Delaying the touchdown slightly, Thigh Kleava made her first ever touchdown in turn 16. I'm guessing that she knew we'd be putting her on the line of scrimmage, and it seems she wasn't all that keen on the idea.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------
3 pts - #6 Groth Paleflesh
ST4, AG4, and all the key skills you need to make one hell of a ball carrier, Groth seemed exceptionally difficult to take down. Partly that was due to assistance of his teammates, but he just kept finding his way out of danger.

2 pts - #7 Pumpkinhead
With block, dodge and stand firm, this golem came awfully close to costing us a toughdown in the first half. He also seemed to get in the way time after time.

1 pt - #4 Axe McBane
Axe was one of the theatres most useful players in the second half. Assisted by Macrame, he made brilliant use of his guard to make it hard for us to get in at the all importan ball carrier.

Honourable mention - #15 Scabby
Purely for inflicting the theatres only casualty, and providing the girls (except for poor Head Stompa) some much needed entertainment back in the locker rooms. Head Stompa of course was the butt of the joke, which lasted up until she reminded them what happened to poor Ted.

#14 Ted Pungo – Dead (RIP)
Tough bunch of orks who showed us we need to harden up a bit to play with the big boys (or girls). Twahnlows awarded to those who caused the most carnage - Krasha, Breaka and Stompa:

3 votes - Bone Krasha (#5)
2 votes - Back Breaka (#13)
1 votes - Head Stompa (#4)

Congrats on a great season Lav, good luck with going one step futher next time.
