“Another tough game for the Woodies who continue the march towards SWL glory.

The Fossils were missing quite a few of their skinks for this game and the Woodies went into the match with 15 fit players (a WDD recoed!). The men of wood made their intentions clear from the get go, with Hutchy stomping on a prone Vraal. Despite having a little bit of difficulty getting through the wall of saurus in front of them the Woodies finally found a gap and Van B set up Golden Child for an early 1-0 lead.

A quick blitz on defence allowed the Woodies to swarm the Lizards and Crowlockasaurus got into position to catch the kickoff. His Skills let him down and the ball slid through his fingers but it was well covered by the WDDs. Stepping up to the plate was the Fossils star Skink Balljuggler.
He danced through tackles like a ghost, plucked up the ball and casual throw it to Ball Bearing who was making his way down field. With the defence caught in the wrong side of the field he crossed the line to make it 1-1.

With only a little bit of time left on the clock the Men of Wood worked a quick offence with Van B picking out Crowlockasaurus who managed to dance his way over the line to give the Woodies a slender 2-1 lead at the break.

The 2nd half proved a much bloddier afair than the first. Rigdush and Gidush went about destroying the elves. The medical team was flat out keeping the Woodies in fit shape. During the mayhem Ballnipper scored an equaliser for Fossils.

At 2-2 a piece the game was starting to get very tense. The Woodies were slowed down once againt by the FFs big men. Balljuggler and Co were also putting a lot of pressure on Van B who had secured the ball deep. Holmsy took matters into his own hands turning Balljuggler from a Super Skink in to a Super Splat! Van B quickly got rid of the ball and Rus Love gave the lead back to the Double Double.

The Fossils looked lost without BJ running their offence. Crowlock ducked in a won the ball easily and the Woodies looked ready to kill the game off. Rigdush II bersek with rage at seeing his team captain dying in front of him, throw an enourmous hit at Crowlock which managed to get the ball free and break his skull in one go. Huchy regathered and got the ball out to Neil Gorge Wallington. NGW slowed down as he approached the endzone to listen to the cheers from the Woody Faithfull. This moment of hesitation gave Ballbearing time to track back and tackle him just short of the line. Meanwhile Rigdush was further avengeing BJs death this time breaking Golden Childs neck. With time running out neither team could get the ball under controll and the Woodies finished just ahead 3-2.

2pts: the late Balljuggler - He was the life of the Fossils offence. When he was off the pitch the lizards forward line could not operate.

1pt: Drysyd - Deserves one point even though he did not even acheive a single stat. His ability to bring down players with his tail proved most annoying and almost earned the FF a draw.
