“The Black Fire Pass Blitzers enter the NWL and hold their opening game against a cagey wood elf team that found out it can't out-hit dwarfs.
Coach Gutterbuster played a very close game and initally scored before the dwarfs even know what hit them. Picolo Jr. a blitzer leaped over defenders to score the first TD of the game.
The Blitzers rumbled back in the classic cage formation and though Pilcolo knocked the ball loose from Benn Rumblesberger, he picked up some blockers and regained his feet to score a tying TD.
The wood elfs were battered by the end of the 1st half. Almost half the team sat out recovering. They tried their best to stop the dwarf machine, but 11 dwarfs vs. 6 elfs isn't good odds no matter what. Again, Big Benn scored, taking the lead for his team. Poor Picolo Jr, who had blitzed Benn, was killed on the following play, leveled by Dermonti Deathrun and the poor wood elf had no apothecary to save him.
The Woodbreakers tried their best, but they were unable to avoid dwarf blockers and tacklers and were quickly swarmed in a sea of black and gold as the boys from Black Fire Pass swallowed them up and finished up a solid win in their debut.
Coach Gutterbuster played a very good game and very honorable. Hopefully his team recovers and he's able to play once again.”
