“Before the game began, the players of Embrace the Wind approached their coach. This Orc team was vastly more experienced. With some of their players already having played 20+ games, tackle, mighty blow, guard, and dirty player were among the many skills the orcs possessed. The amazons vainly searched for a weakness - and the only one to be found is that the orcs could only field 9 players for the game. Thus the coach gave the order and a brutal game of fouling and cutthroat blocking started.
The game was very close and back and forth. However, the bashing and the fouling took a steep toll on both teams. Eventually with the score tied 1-1 and late in the second half there was only a half dozen amazons and three orcs left on the pitch and finally the girls of the Wind managed to get the ball and carry it into the endzone for the winning score.
Thanks for the game - it was certainly a great learning experience!
Edit: Sorry, our fear of all the skills inflated the number of games played to a round number of 20 instead of the actual number of 17 ;-)
I also agree that we got viciously lucky on the injury rolls early in the game when it mattered most and that is certainly the main reason we were able to pull out the victory. Although, only 1 CAS was caused by a block, the other 3 CAS were from fouls - many assists made the AV 9 a much smaller factor.”
