SWL Conference Game.

Replay might not work properly (not checked) because the game hung on turn 11 when I killed my opponent's AG4 Gobbo and the client did not want to scatter the ball. Apoth roll was done in SWL channel and we kept reloading till I got a knockdown that did not cause more than a stun. My 27 SPP Blitzer got robbed of 2 SPP (no one's fault) *sniff*.

Clearly the luck readings are out as it is only the last 5 turns. At the point of the hung game, my luck reading was 51, my opponent's was 52.

Anyways, onto the game. I had cash to spare after my last opponent conceded after four turns so decided to buy a Wizard. Went into this match not really caring if I won or lost as promotion at this stage is not looking that desirable (team is very undeveloped).

Anyways, started in offence and use a RR early I think on a Double Skulls block. Then got sent off on my foul with the (un)lucky 6! Bro Town moved forwards and mobbed the Eternal Rage line, sending one Gobbo over the LOS on foot after another one was fumbbled onto the ground with a failed TTM attempt. The Rage blitzed the Gobbo, using another RR to buy a POW and a casualty.

Bro Town knocked out my second DP with a +6 foul (using their DP). With 3 Gobbos and 3 Ogres in the 3x3, I used the Fireball, knockind down two Ogres and one Gobbo, allowing me to Blitz his DP and KO him.

Bro Town used a clever chain push to send an Ogre within Blitz range of my two backfielders near the ball. A reroll was used to buy a POW on the chain push so the Ogre did not have to dodge and he failed his second GFI. Eternal Rage swung right, and burned another RR on a Blitz attempt to buy a POW on a Gobbo and got another casualty, leaving Bro Town with just one Gobbo on the pitch.

The Darkies swung the ball right, but were caught off guard by a Break Tackle Blitz into two TZ that got pows and spilt the ball free. Both teams fought for the ball, with the Bro Town Gobbo managing to pick it up in a TZ but then failing a dodge or GFI and stunning himself.

The Eternal Rage then swung the ball up the other side of the pitch, and punted the ball towards a Lineman on the sideline (I had no rerolls left and the punt was a Quick Pass in the Sun whereas throwing to the Lineman would be a Short Pass or GFI to bring it into Quick Pass range). A crazy lucky scatter (well one in 8) saw the ball land on my AG5 Lineman on the sideline who caught the ball! The Rage ran in the ball the next turn leaving Bro Town 2 turns to score.

The Eternal Rage set up deep in defence, then found themselves in a bad position to stop the TTM play as they had players strung up all over the place and Bro Town were able to get the equaliser.

In the second half, Eternal Rage lined up in offence but got a Blitz on a short kick! A blitz netted double skulls (rerolled) but the ball was caught. Bro Town managed to blitz the receiving Blitzer and it was a fight for the ball again.

Bro Town managed to recover the ball, but a one dice Pow on an Ogre get Eternal Rage an assist on the Gobbo (who had an Ogre with Guward next to him) setting up a two dice Blitz after two Ogres on the LOS failed their Bone Head rolls which freed up 3 Eternal Rage players from making a dodge roll. The 2 dice blitz caused a RIP on Mila (the AG4 Goblin) which was lost due to the game hanging. Opponent used his apoth in the chat channel and we played on as if the Gobbo had been saved by the apoth.

Bro Town recovered the ball and caged it, but the Eternal Rage was able to get their AG5 Leaper to make 3x 2+ dodges and then a leap to get a two dice blitz on the Gobbo and the ball spilt free again. Both sides mobbed the ball and the Eternal Rage ended up scattering it onto an Ogre who caught it! The Ogre was stuck however and eventually, the Eternal Rage were able to one dice push him into the open and a dodge set up another one dice block on hte Ogre and the Pow came up.

Eternal Rage recovered the ball and ran deep with some screening players whilst Bro Town chased. Not willing to try a GFI (I had no rerolls I think), the Rage were not able to get outrun the chasing Ogres, and a Bro Town Ogre was able to make two dodges (the first not needing his Break Tackle skill) and two GFI to blitz POW the Witch Elf who had the ball.

A draw looked likely, but the Eternal Rage had some last minute luck with a 3+ pick up and 2+ dodge to seal the match.
---------------
A tough game. I was certainly on the back foot as I have not much experience playing Ogres.

We both had some major bad luck. I got my DP sent off first foul, and had a couple of snakes and double skulls. My opponent also had a few turns with many Bone Head rolls, including on at least one Blitz move by an Ogre (might have failed on the reroll too, I don't recall).

Meanwhile, Duh Where Am I? worked a treat on my sole Guard player, with a 1 coming up at least 4 times that match out of la maximum of 16 attempts. Anyway, my opponent kept me pressured all match and it was a good tight contest evem though my team had the advantage coming in (more players and a Wizard).
