“A brave challenge from my opponent that resulted in a close game.
First half the dwarfs started on the attack and made tons of blocks without dealing much damage. The scoring plan was almost ruined when a double block dice made me use my last reroll and instead of a crowdpush i got a double skulls later that turn. This left my stalling runner open to a blitz, but reroll was used on one of the go for its to him, and the one die block showed a skull --> 1-0 for the dwarfs.
Second half the humans can only start with 9 and have bad luck at the kickoff, when on the blitz double block is rerolled into double block, and there is no opening in the defense. The dwarfs manage to hit the humans down and take the ball easily, but then with some spectacular (lucky) play the humans still manage to tie.
First he gets my runner down on a 2 die against and the blitzing catcher gets the ball on the scatter. I get him down next turn and get players around the ball. But then he pushes away a ST4 with a 2 die against, followed by a dodge in a TZ, pickup in a tackle zone and succesfull short pass.
I can still reach the ballcarrier, but get a snake eyes on the go for it to blitz --> 1-1
The dwarfs have two turns left to score and get a nice opportunity, but without reroll the go for it to make a short pass failed.
A bit silly loss for the dwarfs thus, vs some brave humans.
My skill rolls sure made up for it however:
+ST on a trollslayer, and a second +ST on a longbeard, YAYAYAY !!! ”
