“Orcland Wooden Shield 3/07 - round 1
-----------------------------------------------------
The Gothenburg Geckos had been kept on ice after the lost final of the Royal Rookie Rumble, but the owner decided to transfer them to League and enrolled them in the illustrious Orca-Cola franchise.
First up in the Orcland Wooden Shield was another lizardmen team, the Obliqs Freestyle Dance Troupe. Things looked good for the Geckos, who had a Kroxigor and one more Saurus, but it would turn out to be an extremly hard fought match.
After having scored a TD, things started to go against the Geckos. A string of failed double dice blocks and opponents that thought they were elves made it tough to hold them back and Kazda-unkhi could dodge between the legs of sauruses and skinks to run in an equalizer.
In over-time the opponents (not surprisingly) won the kickoff and things looked dark for the Geckos. The luck finally ran out for Rambles though and after some good turns he looked to repeat the previous TD, but this time the skink fell. Things were made more nervous when the Gecko ball runners fumbled with the ball, but despite Rambles managing to dodge away with an agi 1 saurus and make a succesful hit on one of the skink cagers the Gecko skink could hold off and complete the sudden death TD.
Thanks for a very exciting match, Rambles. For being a new coach you played really well, even if you had the appropriate beginner's luck for a while :)
Good luck with the team! ”
