#1 Terry Bumblefoot – Broken Ribs (MNG) #1 Terry Bumblefoot – Smashed Knee (NI) #14 Lucas North – Dead (RIP)
“A miserable game made palatable only by the single CAS caused by the 'oos being a niggled, un-regenned Mummy.
The Fumbleoos received to start and immediately turned over on a downed treeman. The next turn was a turnover on the first action, a failed dodge. This set the standard for the match, with the skellies playing like elves and the halflings patently unable to dodge, GFI, or pick up the ball. In the meantime, the deaders kidnapped the ref and proceeded to remove one treeman and cause general havoc.
Down 0-1 in the second half and on defense, they managed to get several players deep and even collect the ball. No less than 4 flings ended up in the end zone with the ball in their square. Each failed either a dodge, GFI, or in one case, a pickup. All had rerolls. In fact, between 8 and 10 fling rerolls went unused this match.
Each new fling who tried to score knocked himself out or badly hurt or stunned himself, leaving his mates with the task of reclaiming the ball again. The lone exception was Lucas North, who failed to pick up the ball in the end zone and was promptly killed.
Team captain and Hall-of-Famer Terry Bumblefoot suffered a broken leg and will not return for the rest of the Cup, and the team can't afford a single replacement.
To say their hopes of improving on last year's performance were dashed is an understatement.”
