“This was a game either team could have taken, but for some tactical errors. However, the errors may have cancelled out to give a tie regardless:
a) In the first a poor formation by the Khemri left the flanks exposed for an easy flank score.
b) Still in the first, a Human failed to spot an easy rushing touchdown chance and therefore negelcted to score when invited!
In the end, there were victories both ways- the Mounters ensured victory for their pair in the Links championship, whereas the Streetfighters kicked some serious ass!
#10 Iskhak Akhmerov – Smashed Hip (-MA) #2 Butch Cassidy – Dead (RIP)
“It was a great game again! We lost some players but still managed to show some sort of resistance against a full set of mummies! :)
Here's a short review with some inserts from an interview with coach jaawi briefly after the game:
1st half:
The Mastmounters were kicking and got blitz but because of carefully set defenceline I could not do much! :)
"We tried to go for the mummies and succeded in a way. The mummies couldn't do much damage to our team but , unfortunately, instead the rest of the khemri's did!"
The khemri team seriously injured my lineman Iskhak Ahmerov on turn 1. On turn 2 they seriously injured my cather Tiger. On turn 5 Julius Rosenberg (lineman) was badly hurt and Streetfighter II scored 1-0.
"With only 8 players left we went for attacking straight forward from one side. Coach Prasomchai left the wide zones quite open and we had no difficulties in getting the score even!" Turn 6: 1-1.
"After our following kick the Streetfighters had very bad luck and the ball scattered after an usuccesful pass. Our cather Tex Willer got the ball and we managed to start a counter attack. We were positioned to try to score on our next turn (8). The khemri team saved their blitz for the mummy Balrog who had to go for it and fell! Tex Willer had his chance now but something strange happened! Later he claimed he couldn't hear my advice for him because of some problem with his radio receiver. He could have scored but didn't see the opportunity himself! The red carpet was laid in front of him but he didn't see it!!! Unbelievable! With 2 easy dodges and 2 GFI's he had scored!!! And I think we even had a re-roll left! I don't know what was going on in his mind... Looking at the final score now afterwards I think we could have won the game unless of this terrible mistake!"
2nd half:
"After the kick off we somehow scored. I don't know what happened! I was still raging after the way we played in the end of period 1. Tex eventually wanted to make up for his mistake. I'm glad he did!"
Now the score was 2-1 to Transatlantic Mastmounters. "After kick-off Butch Cassidy met his faith. He rolled a skull while blocking and died. Sundance is still grieving in his own cynical way. We have to replace him soon to stand up against the bashing teams."
"We had only 5 men on field as the mummies were rumbling on! It was awful to watch it (the khemri team) run over us like a cargo train! There was now way our guys could stop them!"
With their unstoppable attack the Streetfighter II score 2-2 on turn 6. "Again I think Tex should have tried to rush for another score but he must have got scared of the 4 mummies waiting for him. He should have at least tried..." ”
