“As with all games involving goblin cheaters, it was fun. The bombs flew, the chainsaw massacred - and the ball was traded back and forth almost every turn.
After the ref removed his blindfold (we really should have paid him more, but bribes sure are expensive these days) and send half my team back to the bench it became a bit tough on the remaining goblins. But to their 'honor' it must be said that they never gave up, blocking, blitzing, bombing and dodging against overwhelming odds.
The big surprise came when they managed to score a TD - after receiving a kickoff in turn 16 with only 2 players left on the field. Injury time, insane doging, and elves who failed to pick up the ball all helped, but in the end it was Hops heroic performance that made the day. Or at least, made the day less dark. :)”
“This was the Poison Elves first game against Goblin Cheaters and for their coach as well. It was a big learning experience. Number one lesson: Ignore the ball and blitz the Chainsaw if he is standing. Number two lesson: Foul the chainsaw if he is prone.
It was a close early game with Leatherface and his chainsaw killing two of the Poison Elves. The Apothocary was able to save one.
Like I said the secret weapons were causing problems so I made an effort to score a quick touchdown hoping the ref would remove the cheaters and give the field a less Mad Max Roadwarrior feel. After the first touchdown 2 secret weapons were kicked out of the game - One the chainsaw - Yeah!!!!
5 gobbos vs 10 angry elves in the second half made the rest of the game no contest. The Tinatious Bomb Squad did manage to score with only two players on the field. ”
