“The sound of the chainsaws from the carvers echoed across the pitch. The halflings protected the chainsaws more than the ball - and with good reason. No point in picking up the ball, the chainsaw will just smack ya to the ground!

The first half started according to plan. Spider received first and scored quickly...but the ref decided not to notice the chainsaw...then Spider kicked off and the chainsaw got to work. Mostly it was just stuns and knocked down. However it was brutal to lose a player a turn to the saw. The match turned bloody very quickly however, the halfling were getting stomped underfeet rapidly. However, several double skulls ended turns early for the Spider and nearly allowed the halflings to score. The rat ogre suffered a niggling injury (saved by apothecary) at the end of the first half attempting to block a minotaur and getting a bothdown. Another bothdown was taken earlier to badly hurt one of the chainsaws.

The second half started with less chaos halflings on the field, but the two minotaurs were still there and blocking extremely well. At one point, the Spider managed a takeaway and translated that into another score to make it 2-0. However, then it was mostly protection mode - the chainsaw had badly hurt and knocked out multiple gutter runners and the number of rats was dropping fast. Finally, the last chainsaw was knocked to the ground...but not even stunned. The Spider was worried he would just stand up and saw the rat ogre...so he was fouled...stunning him. The next four turns the prone carver was fouled until finally he was badly hurt. The blood was not over though as on the last turn, one of the minotaur did a bothdown against the rat thrower...but it resulted in another serious injury.

Overall, it was a well played game, Spider is just happy to have survived without more damage from the nasty chainsaws!”
