“A great struggle that should have ended with a Khermi victory, but just a few bounces went against them at the wrong time and the game ended with Deathwind reaping the fruits of victory.
The first half Deathwind received and inflicted a SI on a mummy (regenerated) and later inflicted 2 more CAS in the half (both also regenerated). Eventually, the struggle in the middle of the pitch over the ball came down to where would the ball bounce as players got shooved around...right at the end of the half, the bounced finally squirted free in the best possible position and Ghost plucked it up and scampered in for the TD to go up 1-0 at halftime.
The second half was classic Khermi...sort of. Receiving the ball deep in their end, the three mummies managed to contain the majority of Deathwind's players. Doombringer, the ST 4 werewolf was badly hurt, a ghoul was badly hurt, already one zombie had been killed (no regen) so Deathwind was short players. However, the Khermi had a long way to go...then suddenly a nice long pass is complete from an AG 3 skeleton to a ST 4 skeleton and they are in the clear...3 1d blocks against the skeleton are all pushes and he makes his way to the goal line. Not taking any chances that the werewolf could do some damage, the Khermi score on turn 7, leaving 2 turns for Deathwind. With the score tied, 1 ghoul and 1 werewolf, the plan is clear...the werewolf moves up 4 spaces and zombies and golems go for it to provide some cover. The Khermi crash into the screen as expected and on the final turn, Ghost tosses a nice quick pass to Deathwind, then Deathwind blitzs through the solid line of skeletons - a 1d block is a POW, then dodge is sucessful...finally a gfi and Deathwind manages a very improbable victory to end the losing streak.
A good hard fought battle that was marred by many mistakes as both coachs were very, very tired by the time the match was concluded.”
