“The Ratmen of the Apocalypse begrudgingly took the field, their numbers deflated by past injustices. Rattus Exulans was the most reticent of all, whinging and complaining about his 'throbbing pinched nerve', until the doc juiced him up with so much warpstone that he couldn't feel his face.
The elves scored midway through the half, giving the ball to a somewhat depleted Ratmen squad. However, they boldly forged forward, gumming up midfield with rat bodies in such a way that the Dark Moon Cult forgot to try and pressure the ball carrier. Easy score.
The second half was not so easy, as the rats were further down in numbers. Things started to go better, however, with a foul on Brazaa that sat him down for the rest of the match with a reported 'painful ringing in his whole body'. Despite the loss of their star blitzer, the Dark Moons Cult put together a disorganized and desperate scrambling passing play on the sidelines to score. Now the Ratmen had but a few scant turns to make something of it... But continued fumbling incompetence by the new thrower, Cat Scratch Fever, killed what hopes they had of a tie. The dejected rats watched with subdued enthusiasm as the Cult failed to go for another score.
On the coaches side, though Saunatonttu took poorly to my offer that my dwarves play the cult, his counter-offer against my skaven made for an entertaining match. Cheers, we will play again in the future.”
