“We were concerned about facing a bashy team. However, the Orc coach contacted us and asked for the game. They presented us their team and we looked at their 15 players and nodded...some tackle, some mighty blow. This would be very difficult, but we felt we were up for a challenge. We came to the pitch and suddenly noticed 16 orc players...it seems on the way to the match they hired Nobbla. Silly of us not to notice he had spare cash sitting around ready to get a chainsaw. Not a problem, it just meant we knew what our initial focus needed to be. We fouled Nobbla as soon as possible, but apothecary saved him. Then while the orcs focused on bashing, we stole the ball got a 1-0 lead and the ref banned Nobbla.

The game followed that pattern, with us taking a 3-1 lead after the opening possession of the second half. Our linerats as usual suffered against the mighty blow after a while, but another mistake allowed a gutter runner to sneak in and pluck up the loose ball and soon enough we were up 4-1. The Orcs however had the numbers and drove the field to score on T16 to make the final score 4-2.

Overall it was a fun game - very contrasting styles of play, we managed to utilize our speed and agility to score in this case we came out on top. Another time, with a bit more luck the bashy team may have cleared the pitch...but today belonged to the rats!”
