“Started off looking like a great birthday present for Coach Ryce! Long time rival, Todfatha, brought his tough Waaaaah Pain State to bear on the ogreless Gypsies. Ryce went into this game with a streak of nine winless games (granted most were ties, but...) Would this change it all?
The Gypsies performed extremely well in the first half. Nightsong's injury is already showing some tactical difficulties, since as the team's lone thrower, he needs to be able to get around! Still, he shambled to the ball and tossed it to Jonez, who tossed it to Wesley Stable in the endzone! Gypsy touchdown! They managed to hold off the orcs for the rest of the half, leaving the score 1-0, Gypsies.
The second half put the boys from Dark Water into the grindhouse. Though they managed to out casualty Pain State, they ones that were left were absolute bruisers. The two mighty, multiple blockers tore through the Gypsie defenders. And despite a heroic effort, the Gypsies gave up the point in the final seconds of the game. 1-1!
Another veteran Gypsy is starting to show his age. Founding member, Dirk Drawbridge, is refusing to replace is failing armor. He has grown dark and venegeful, and he says he plans to punish all opponents, no matter how mean he must get. Ryce immediately sent him to a psychologist... to figure out how to get the rest of the team to feel the same way!
After much deliberation, Granite has decided to step down from the Kings and let a newcomer stand tall and shake the heavens. Though he hasn't missed a game since his persistent injury, Gregg decided he would leave before he became a hinderance to the Gypsies. Rumor has it, he'll be working the door at 'Sweet Baby' Ray Jones' bar.
Good game as always, Todfatha. I am proud to retire one of your players, Braen Dasher. I need quite a few more to catch up! TEN GAMES WITHOUT A WIN! ”
