“Oh. My. God.
That might be the weirdest game I ever played...
Started yesterday, and while I didn't have much luck, it's also true that Kaz capitalised on it well, while I failed to adjust my game - so, 2-0 down at the end of the first, and while I was moving up the field in the second, I was down to one troll and things looked bad. Then the server went down, I knew we should have allowed for that...
Reloading today, and while I did manage to put some elves off the pitch, some sort of reload issue meant I dodged with a troll - or tried to! Kaz offered another reload, but there seemed little point. But, suddenly it all went my way - his attempt to knock the ball carrier down just pushed him nearer the end, so 2-1 with two turns to go. Then, my goblins somehow made a perfect kick, out of range of all but one elf, who tried to pass but fumbled, and so we were able to make extra time, against only six elves still on the pitch. Even so, with no rerolls we struggled, many a turn ending on double skulls and the elves getting the ball at one point... but finally, in the last turn, a series of blocks, dodges and then two gfis to hand-off all worked, and the gobbos were through! Amazing stuff...”
