“TR difference due to 340K in the Guardians' bank account and a missing player.

What a total farce that game was in the first half. I was very lucky to draw, but then unlucky not to win in the end when the dice started to show me some favour.
First half I had the ball, and I kept rolling Skull + Skull/Pow on his penetrating defender, losing a reroll on an early double Skulls and a 1 to pick up the ball on the sideline (failed of course) which was a must as the ball could have ended up anywhere and my opponent had 5 players with MA8 or MA9.
So it happened that I missed a 2+ catch to set up a score on about turn 4 and my opponent picked up the ball deep in his endzone, and scored on me. I managed to score back despite losing players to early injuries and KOs and also getting screwed by KO recovery (he made both, I failed mine) and Sweltering Heat (I failed three 2+ rolls from 8, whilst my opponent failed three 2+ from 12). My opponent scored on me again when I only had 7 on defence (1 failed Sweltering Heat from 5, +2 passed out from before and one KO recovery) so I was down 2-1 at half time and my opponent to receive.
After exchanging TDs to be down 2-3 luck finally came my way. On his kickoff, I make a mistake and end up not blitzing his Thrower in the backfield (I thought I was 1 MA short) and only stuck a tackle zone on him with my Catcher who ran 12.
His Thrower failed a dodge (failed reroll too) and knocked himself out and he had no one near the ball! I scored quick rather than delaying to take the score to 3 all.
On the next kickoff I get a blitz and I manage to catch the ball and survive the blitz on the ball carrier (why he didn't use someone with Tackle I don't know, but it didn't matter) and I scored to take the lead 4-3.
With only 8 on defence there was not much I could do and he evened the scores to 4-4.
I got a quick snap on the final kickoff and almost stole the game with my one turner (who is only used this way on turn 8s) but he failed his first GFI to score.
----------
The game was a complete farce in the early part of the first half with my opponent having 84% luck until about turn 6? whilst I toiled away not knocking his players over, failing to pick up the ball and failing catches with rerolls. Nothing I was doing was working.
Second half it was two moments of huge luck that let me back into the game (the failed dodge by his Thrower, and then the Blitz). However, the fact that I took 4 casualties and he took none when I attacked his AV7 players as much as possible says it all.
A fun game in parts that was closely contested by both coaches. The Guardians lucky to remain undefeated, yet also unlucky in the end not to win.”
