The numbers were even now - so it's on. However, the rain kept us from nabbing the ball on the first try, causing our planned sweep left not to go off at all. Instead, we had to shift right to midfield and fight a hole straight up the gut. Once we finally broke free though, it was a thing of beauty. The pursuit couldn't catch Office Garland and we scored.

Showdown 2's drive didn't go so well - their troll is a real bone-head and we were still up at the half. Unfortunately, we were kicking to them again, so they swept up a flank and then did something odd - the ball got tossed, rain and all, at one of their clumsier players. No surprise then, that he bobbled it forward. We swarmed to the ball and boxed them in, Hannibal Chew leading the charge to support. A lucky bounce saw the ball flip forward of the clump of grunting replicants and Max grabbed it and took off in a reverse. Him and his cover flew down the field, the others messing up pursuit (with a little help from the imbecilic Harlan Spiketooth, who managed to bungle their response with a weak block). They did get close to Max, but not close enough to stop him. Defensive touchdowns are great - gives you double the reason to celebrate. With a few turns left, we made life difficult for their receivers and they eventually gave up on their long-shot pass play and beat us around the field. J.F. Sebastian almost got his head taken off near the end, but the doc says he'll make it, and have a week-long hangover to remember never to take it easy with the enemy still on the pitch.
