“Well the Greenskin Runners play in their first match and earn a hard fought draw against the Treetop Terrors. Struggling early on with the Terrors quick running game, the Runners found themsleves going in at half time a TD down, the Runners coach Englebert Humpdiback taking what seemed and age to pick up the Terrors deep lying running formation and speed off the ball. Not that this meant the first half wasnt without incident, including a fractured arm for one Terrors lineman and a KO for a freebooter called in by the Terrors coach to help with the current player shortage, this along with 'The Weasel' being pushed into the crowd and receiving a KO from an over enthusiastic fan were the only incidents in the early stages of the match, however, just before half time, was the turning point of the match. With Phil lying prone on the ground, and his brother Grant looking on in horror, the Terrors tried to play a dirty foul on the big blocker, and what at first looked like a possible fatality was avoided due to the quick thinking of the Runners apothecary Dr. Dan the Medicen Man. With the Terrors player seeing red this meant they had to see out the 2nd half with only 8 men.
The second half was punctuated by sloppy play and handling errors, with the Terrors looking to kill time and avoid not getting killed, and it looked like they might hold on until, with only 4 minutes remaining, yet another fumble meant the ball fell to Grasnak Longarm, and, with 'The Ferret' waiting next to the end zone, all it took was cool nerves, a steady aim, and a catch that lent more to the poor little guy having his hands soaked in glue before the game than any amount of skill to ensure that the Runners got a deserved point from their debut game.”
