I love it when a plan comes together! Well not really, but sometimes the dice will do you no wrong. At least when it comes to blocks, armour rolls, and injuries. It certainly is an unusual occurence when you tie a game with literally NO opponents on the field. However, the combo of the blizzard and a rat that could not be taken down meant I was constantly fumbling pickups, passes, and catches.

A fun game and hats off to my opponent for never giving up!

#7 Stan Collymore – Smashed Knee (NI)
#12 Brad Pitt – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#3 Jeffrey Archer – Dead (RIP)
#15 Eddie Irvine – Dead (RIP)
All started going wrong on the first blocks, as both mummies managed to seriously injure the linemen opposite them. Undeterred, the Rats formed a line, and prepared for the long slog. With his second block, Income tax killed Eddie Irvine, and Agent Smith was hidden in a 10 man cage with only 5 rats in front, as the undead began a remorseless grind forward.

Kennedy knocked out Income Tax midway through the first half, and it looked like the line might be held. But Clinton was seriously injured by Sales Tax, and the side line was opened up, with only Gutter Runners fast enough to get back to try and defend. It was not enough, and Agent Smith ran into the corner for the opening score.

The rats opened their drive with a pair of KOs, flooding straight through the middle. Backtax tripped on defense, Kennedy took Hedge Funds out the play, and Archer slipped a quick pass into the hands of Macca for a equaliser to end the first half. 1-1.

Income Tax failed to recover, but Death n'Taxes had the reserves to line up 11 against only 7 skaven.

Archer received, and a whole was opened up on the inside left channel, while Collymore simply ran through the right. Collymore was stopped by Audit, then foulled by High Interest, to keep him out the play. With the receivers in double cover, or worse, Archer ran right, where the rats had a man advantage, playing for time. Then Law was knocked out and High Interest seriously injured Collymore at the second attempt. Eleven plays five.

Unable to throw long due to the increasingly heavy snow, Archer continued right, hugging the line. But Audit caught him, and killed him, leaving the ball lose on the touchline. JFK was badly hurt by Junk Bonds, and it was eleven plays three, with most of the half remaining. Not content with the carnage, Sales Tax fouled Grant.

Macca had an glimmer of hope to score, but was tackled with the ball just out of reach. McCoist was surrounded, and knocked out by Agent Jones. Medium Risk fouled Macca, but unbelievably the ref was persuaded to allow him to stay on the field. Sales Tax led the fouling on Grant, and again the ref backed down under pressure from Tac-One.

Macca was now alone and surrounded, when Audit took the ball, and tried the pass to Backtax. But in a stunning display of nimbleness, he escaped out into the open field. Sales Tax was one of five players chasing him, but went down in the confusion, and was knocked out.

Macca was now well and truly free, and ran back to the halfway line to retrieve the ball. Out of time, and realising the game was drawn, he attempted to decapitate Hedge Funds with a thrown ball. Hedge Funds surprised everyone, especially Macca, when he demonstrated enough alertness to actually catch the ball. Everyone else was catch ballwatching, as Macca was still standing when Hedge Funds fumbled his own pass. So Macca scampered round the back of Backtax, and retrieved the ball again. This time Junk Bonds was the surprised recipient of an overly aggressive pass, but again, the zombie made the catch. Macca was then caught by Audit, and High Interest knocked him out. This time though the referee's attention was not diverted, and High Interest was sent from the field, but only as the referee blew for full time.
