“I agree on most part, except for the dice rolls to score in the last turn of the first half. In stead of 2 2+ rolls, there was 2x3+ dodge, 1x2+ dodge. 3xGFI, a pickup amd a hand-off.”

“The Flower Pow had cruised through the Vet II Tournment so far and it came to us to attempt to stop this overpowering force of elves. Ultimately, the answer was that we could not break their armor...and thus failed.
The first half started out very well for us as we blitzed off the opening kickoff and then a mistake by the elves allowed us to slip in a gutter runner for the easy TD. The majority of the rest of the half saw fouls from the elven dirty players (not very effective at all) and blocks (very effective) - the CAS and KOs piled up quickly as our rats were tossed off the field. The elves scored, however, we still had 2 turns with the ball and surged forward. On the final turn before the half, we needed to make 2 2+ rolls for the score (a dodge and a hand-off), but we tripped and this missed opportunity proved the deciding factor.
To open the second half, we still had not caused a single CAS and the elves were starting to outnumber our squad - so freshmeat delivered 2 boots to some downed players - and that accounted for all the CAS we got this game. We did manage to get some KOs with more fouls and blocks and the numbers of the field diminished. However, the elves would *not* be denied...solid play by the elves and uninspired play by the rats created a turnover and the elves scored. Now down 2-1, the rats had to put together a drive...and finally they responded with Tainted racing into the endzone after being a failed dodge by the elves prevented them a last ditch blitz to stop him.
In the end it was a draw - a hard fought one and bloody for the rats. Komodo dragon suffered a broken collar bone and Tainted aged a second niggle after the game...but stalwert players have been given their promotion to the ranks of asst. coaches.
Thanks for an excellent game and our regrets to the rest of the teams that we could not stop this powerful team. With one game to go, Flower Pow has a decided edge in tournament points and a win in their final game win essentially give them the tournament crown. Well done!
Edit: Bah! That is what I get for not writing the match report right away :) Was thinking of my previous game! Indeed, I did have a chance to score at the end of the half, but it was not a very good one. GR got tripped making a 3+ dodge. My apogolies; was thinking of my wood elf game before our game. Again, an excellent game.”
